Rare True Antique1950’s Tura Turanette #46 of 200 Made in USA
The first real luxury eyewear came from Tura USA. Back in the 1940's an optician, Monroe Levoy on Madison Avenue in New York, started an eyewear company called Tura. Ever the father of invention, in 1949, Levoy introduced the “Turanette,” a double tiara design on a lightweight metal frame that held hair in place. Tura through the 1980's was the leader in fashion eyewear. Mostly known for their Aluminum frames, decors, and beveled facet cut lens.
This frame is marked ( 1 of ) 43 of 200 and is a rare iconic style. A collectors dream.
