Founded in 1926 by P. Oliver Goldsmith, OG has been a family-run business for over 80 years. The world of spectacles as we all knew them then was about to transform as sunglasses gained high profile status during the mid-fifties. Dress designers approached Goldsmith to create frames that would compliment their seasonal collections and the reset is history. Think 20th Century icons. Grace Kelly. Peter Sellers. Michael Caine in his signature black spectacles. Audrey Hepburn in the big white glasses that framed her elfin face. Iconic style makers – Givenchy, Dior and Vidal Sassoon. In the second half of last century, when it came to eyewear, OG was synonymous with stars and style.
